Clara Malczewski
I learned at an early age of 7 to sew, crochet and later to do other arts and crafts. At high school age, I learned to draw starting with pencil, charcoal, and eventually into painting with oils, and then I thought I had found my passion in pastels.
I married, had 2 children and immersed myself into my family, living in Pinckney since 1972. 30 years later, my husband retired and children gone, we now had time for ourselves.
I met some new friends who happened to be in the artistic field, and learned watercolors could be a fun media and was encouraged to paint again.
I found watercolors to be exciting and challenging; discovering how brilliant the colors could be and the many techniques of painting, I fell in love exploring the art of watercolor.
Many of my paintings are from photos taken on travels with my husband, many of my flower paintings are of my own flower gardens.
I have become a member of the Livingston Fine Art Assoc., and been showing my paintings in the Livingston County area, including shops, Hamburg Library, the Howell Library, the Opera House, Melon Fest, Bazaars and the Home and Garden Shows.
