History
Circa 1967
Reorganized in 1990, The Association has since been active in community projects and activities. These involvements plus the Association meetings with their educational and social rewards have enriched the lives of all our members.
The purpose of our organization is:
- to bring together the many creative talents associated with fine arts.
- to further educate our members by providing speakers and workshops at our monthly meetings
- to enrich our community by sponsoring art shows, fund-raisers for area charities and working toward providing a scholarship fund for young artists in the area.
- to encourage participation and appreciation of the fine arts by all citizens in the area.
- to offer excursions to see the art of the world in museums great and small, near and far.
- to cultivate social relationships among its members.
When and Where We Meet
The Association meets the last Tuesday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church in Howell. 323 W. Grand River at 6:30 P.M. New members and visitors are always welcome.
"Creation is giving substance to a dream" - William Taylor
"... art means more than the resuscitation of the past. It means the free and unconfined search for new ways of expressing the experience of the present and the vision of the future." - John F. Kennedy
